Bit media education solutions developed the Central School Administration Register (SV-REG) on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education (BMB). Operated by the Federal Computing Center (BRZ), the solution serves as an Austria-wide master data platform for educational data from all Austrian schools. Alongside the BMB\u2019s personal data registry and education portal, SV-REG is a key component of the data network for Austrian schools.<\/p>\n
SV-REG enables the uniform, legally compliant, and data protection-compliant management and processing of educational data, such as basic data, training data, and educational career information, for all students. It uses a domain-specific personal identification number (bPK) for unique identification, which serves as the basis for digital processes and system integrations.<\/p>\n
Implemented in close cooperation with the BRZ and other IT service providers, the school administration register is a central component in the modernization of the Austrian education system.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

The SOKRATES Bund solution, designed and implemented by bit media e-solutions, was newly introduced in 2014, replacing all (8) school administration programs used until then. The system covers all administrative tasks and processes of Austrian state schools in general and vocational education. Among other things, SOKRATES Bund provides a complete organizational structure of all federal schools, procedures for enrollment and admission of pupils, curricula and subjects, classes and groups, grades, exams, report cards, as well as statistical data and analyses.<\/p>\n
SOKRATES is hosted and operated at the Austrian Federal Computing Center (BRZ) in a secure server infrastructure. In addition, SOKRATES Bund is an important central data provider for other specialized applications in the education sector.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

The federal state of Salzburg was the first Austrian federal state to introduce a comprehensive central school administration system. In cooperation with bit media the central system SOKRATES Web pupil administration and SOKRATES Web teacher administration was introduced. <\/p>\n
In addition to the classic administrative processes such as class and group organization, grades and certificates, educational statistics, and much more, the teacher administration module is used to manage all contract data, and employment administration up to the remuneration of teachers.<\/p>\n
SOKRATES Web in the province of Salzburg is the central system for resource planning and controlling in education. The system is hosted, operated and maintained by bit media.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

More than ten years ago, the state government of K\u00e4rnten successfully introduced the central school administration system SOKRATES Web with bit media as the software producer. With the introduction of SOKRATES Web, the previously used legacy system SOKRATES-G was replaced and all historical data was migrated into the new system.<\/p>\n
Today, the federal state of Carinthia implements administrative processes analogous to other federal states, and uses SOCRATES not only as an administrative program for schools, but also as a strategic planning and controlling tool.<\/p>\n
The overall solution for general compulsory schools, vocational schools and agricultural colleges is hosted, operated and maintained by bit media.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Implementation of the pupil management system SOKRATES Web at all (approx. 1000) compulsory schools in Lower Austria in 2015-2016. With the new system delivered by bit media, the decentralized management program (ISIS) used until then was replaced a modern central solution. Part of the project was also data migration from the previous system and creation of a unified central database. In 2019, the processes of staffing plan and remuneration of teachers were also implemented using the SOCRATES system.<\/p>\n
The system is hosted and operated in the computer center of the province of Lower Austria.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Implementation of a uniform system for teacher administration and remuneration for all compulsory schools in Styria. The aim of the solution is to manage the activities of all teachers in Styria, and to implement the new remuneration guidelines for teachers in Austria. At the same time, these administrative processes were merged with the pupil administration system, where SOKRATES had already been used successfully by schools for years. With the introduction of the SOKRATES teacher administration system, the SAP system previously used in Styria could be replaced.<\/p>\n

Implementation of a web-based student administration program with central data storage for all schools in the province of Tyrol. Implementation of a web-based school administration program together with the partners Vorarlberger Gemeindeverband, Land Vorarlberg and Bildungsdirektion Vorarlberg for all schools in the province of Vorarlberg. The goal of the project was and is to create a uniform Pupil record of all schools in Vorarlberg and to digitize all essential processes in the area of pupil administration. In addition, the activities of all teachers are also managed with SOKRATES Web and processed according to the new salary guidelines for teachers in Austria.<\/p>\n

Digital Communication Solution for Schools in Upper Austria<\/h4><\/div>
Part of the project was the implementation and provision of the communication solution \u201cSchoolUpdate\u201d for all secondary schools in Upper Austria together with the partner EDUGROUP. SchoolUpdate is used for teacher-parent-student communication and supports other important daily tasks. This includes absence reports of students, appointments, homework, surveys, as well as the organization of teacher-parent meetings.<\/p>\n
The Education Group is the central IT service provider for schools in Upper Austria and is bit media\u2019s partner for the provision of a central communication solution for schools.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

In 2020, the federal state of Salzburg introduced bit media\u2019s SchoolUpdate communication solution at all compulsory schools. The system provides an interface to the school administration system SOKRATES Web and thus ensures that data is always up to date and valid for the communication with parents and students. In addition to the actual messenger function, an integrated translation function offers the possibility of easy communication even with foreign-language parents.<\/p>\n
With SchoolUpdate, a uniform DSGVO-compliant communication solution has been created and there is no longer any need to resort to a wide variety of individual cloud tools.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
