SOKRATES Payment (edu.PAY) provides schools with a centralized digital solution for the simple and secure processing of all school-related payments. As an integrated extension of SOKRATES, the module enables structured, transparent, and cashless payment processing for parents, students, and school administrators.
SOKRATES Payment retrieves all relevant data directly from the school administration system, eliminating the need to maintain duplicate records of student and parent/guardian information. Schools have access at any time to a clear overview of all outstanding and completed payments. At the same time, this eliminates the need for manual cash collection and eliminates the risk of cash loss or theft.

Processing of payment instructions
SOKRATES Payment makes it easy to create and process payment requests digitally, such as for school events, contributions toward learning and work materials, copying costs, or school uniforms.
Payments with and without a direct debit authorization
Parents or guardians set up a one-time direct debit authorization, receive a payment notification in advance via SOKRATES Payment, and simply need to ensure their account has sufficient funds. Any outstanding amounts can alternatively be paid easily via bank transfer or QR code, with all payment details already correctly pre-filled.
Automated payments and refunds
Lists of outstanding payments and refunds are generated automatically; refunds can be processed collectively via a SEPA bulk transfer.
Transparent billing
An automatically generated statement ensures full traceability of all payment transactions.
Seamless data transfer from SOKRATES
All payment information is directly linked to classes, students, and teachers and is automatically imported from SOKRATES without the need for duplicate entries or data disconnects. SOKRATES Payment for Schools can be accessed directly through the education portal.
Secure and compliant with data protection regulations
Payment processing is handled through a platform established throughout Austria and complies with applicable data protection regulations for use in educational settings.
